Porter’s Not-As-Completely-Irrelevant-As-You-Thought Draft Analysis

We learned last year, these rankings aren’t as pointless as we originally thought.

So here we are again. Hang on with bated breath, it’s the King of Wands, Sir Andrew Porter with his 2018 season predictions.

math

12. Jason

GoodmansGreatGuesses
Budget $200
1. (2) Russell Wilson (Sea – QB) $6
2. (14) Jay Ajayi (Phi – RB) $19
3. (26) Dion Lewis (Ten – RB) $21
4. (38) JuJu Smith-Schuster (Pit – WR) $19
5. (50) Demaryius Thomas (Den – WR) $26
6. (62) Alfred Morris (SF – RB) $16
7. (74) Greg Olsen (Car – TE) $15
8. (86) Minnesota (Min – DEF) $4
9. (98) Brandin Cooks (LAR – WR) $18
10. (110) Corey Davis (Ten – WR) $15
11. (122) Tarik Cohen (Chi – RB) $5
12. (134) Devin Funchess (Car – WR) $8
13. (146) Sterling Shepard (NYG – WR) $8
14. (158) Jamison Crowder (Was – WR) $4
15. (170) Isaiah Crowell (NYJ – RB) $16

It’s extremely difficult to win consistently without having any stars. If this were a snake draft, Jason would have essentially traded his 1st, 2nd, and 3rd round picks for extra mid-round selections.

Russell Wilson and Greg Olsen give him some reliability at the “onesie” positions, but without a WR1 or a RB1, his 120 point weeks will be few and far between.

Draft grade: C-

Where’s the upside? Jason’s upside is in his depth; he’s going to have to do some major GM work

11. LaRose

Sandusky’s Showers
Budget $200
1. (6) Patrick Mahomes (KC – QB) $1
2. (18) Carlos Hyde (Cle – RB) $15
3. (30) Jordan Howard (Chi – RB) $42
4. (42) Davante Adams  (GB – WR) $21
5. (54) Jarvis Landry (Cle – WR) $22
6. (66) Golden Tate (Det – WR) $22
7. (78) Jimmy Graham (GB – TE) $17
8. (90) Jacksonville (Jax – DEF) $1
9. (102) Rashaad Penny (Sea – RB) $10
10. (114) Pierre Garcon (SF – WR) $8
11. (126) Allen Hurns (Dal – WR) $11
12. (138) Chris Thompson (Was – RB) $11
13. (150) Geronimo Allison (GB – WR) $2
14. (162) Mohamed Sanu (Atl – WR) $15
15. (174) Philip Rivers (LAC – QB) $1

I don’t hate Shmike’s team, I just think not having a first-round player is ultimately going to limit his big weeks and upside.

I like Jordan Howard, but $42 is an overpay. Like Jason, LaRose is solid throughout and has depth, but lack of star power will hurt.

Draft grade: C

Where’s the upside? There’s a little bit in Rashaad Penny, but Chris Carson will have something to say about that. Jimmy Graham could have a big TD year.
