Surging Mike Gold Smells Blood, Wheels And Deals In Hopes Of Playoff Push
PHILADELPHIA — Mike Goldberg can smell blood.
After four straight victories, suddenly, the 11th year owner is sitting at 5-4, good for 5th place in 14th Annual Northeast Philly’s Fantasy Football League.
Seeking to become the league’s first-ever three-time champion, Goldberg wheeled and dealed on Wednesday night.
First, Mike Gold traded emerging young-star Stefon Diggs for Eagles running back DeMarco Murray. Then, minutes later, he flipped Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart for the consistent Jets WR Eric Decker.
Essentially, Goldberg traded Diggs and Stewart for Murray and Decker, a relatively lateral move on the surface.
Multiple reports indicate Goldberg also attempting to acquire Rob Gronkowski from Porter for a deal that included Diggs and Stewart, but Porter’s season-saving walk-off win halting all talks.
Goldberg (5-4) — along with Stan (4-5), Blake (6-3), and Porter (3-6) — has the opportunity to become the first owner to accumulate three championships.
The trade deadline is Friday, November 27th at 9:59 p.m. E.T.
And down the stretch they come!
